Other Activities |

1. |
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BJIT A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bangladesh Japan Bangladesh Information Technology (BJIT) and AIUB Department of Computer Science on April 19, 2007 at AIUB auditorium. Objectives of this MoU are to provide some facilities (like career options and candidate nominations) by both organizations, to cooperative with each other in working together for excellence, mutual benefits and growth in the area of education and ICT development, to jointly organize short term programs, to jointly undertake consultancy assignments in the mutually identified areas, to inform and invite each other in workshops and conferences being organized by the department related to ICT development and career planning. |

Open Source Camp
The department has organized a two days long Open Source Camp on June 8-9, 2007 at AIUB Campus with the collaboration with Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN). Students and faculty members attended the workshop.

Police Training Program
The department coordinated and supervised police training program for nearly one thousand officers on Summer and Spring 2006. |

Student Research Award
Atikul Islam was awarded $1000.00 for student research for his research work in textile defect automation system and to attend the seminar on free air ticket in Hong Kong.

IT Support in International Workshop
The faculty members of CS department provided all the IT support and also participated in the International Workshop on the Development of Measurements for Higher Education Quality Assurance in Bangladesh, which was jointly organized by the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) with the Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) as partners. The workshop was held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on 30-31 May 2007. |

Activities of AIUB Software Club (ASC) |

Organizing Inter AIUB Software Exhibition 2007
AIUB Software Club (ASC) has organized an Inter AIUB Software Exhibition 2007 on 22nd March 2007. Mrs. Nadia Anwar, Vice President, Office of Student Affair has inaugurated the colorful event. At the whole day event, students from different departments of AIUB exhibited several software including Mobile Desktop, Online Billing System, J2ME Based Mobile Games, Ball Tracking Robot, GPRS Video Call, Mobile Security System, IRC4Fun Script Chat Software, Hater Muthoi Bangla and many more software. The event attracted lots of visitors including top managements, faculty members and students of AIUB. |

Participation in BASIS SoftExpo 2006
AIUB had participated in the BASIS SOFTEXPO 2006 held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Convention Centre from March 28 to April 1, 2007. The members of software club of AIUB showcased more than twenty software developed by the students. During the exhibition, AIUB stall received overwhelming response from the visitors. |
