Prof. Dr. Md. Asraf Ali is a man of Jessore and currently working as Professor of Computer Science at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). He is actively involved in research in the field of Biological Signal Processing, Bioinformatics, and Machine Learning. As his research outcomes, he has published more than 50 research articles (Journal/Conference) indexed in ISI or SCOPUS. As the community service related to his research, he is working as Reviewer, Technical Committee member (TPC), TPC Chair, and Session Chair of many International Journals and Conferences. Moreover, he is also working as External Examiner for evaluating PhD Thesis of several universities in India.
Actually, Prof. Asraf completed his BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Madras, Chennai, India in 2000, and has started his career journey in January 2001 as Academician at BCMC College of Engineering and Technology, Jessore, Bangladesh in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering under the Faculty of Science and Engineering. During his service period at BCMC institute, he was in 2 years study leave for pursuing his MSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. While he was working at BCMC institute as an Assistant Professor, he served as Head for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and as well as Head for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Then, he joined at Bangladesh University (BU), Dhaka in October 2005 as Lecturer in the Department Computer Science and Engineering under the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology. He worked for BU until August 2015, where he acted as Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. During his service period at BU, he was in around 4 years study leave for pursuing PhD degree in Biomedical Electronic Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. Later, he joined at Daffodil International University (DIU), Dhaka in September 2015 as Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering under the Faculty of Science and Information Technology. He worked for DIU until October 10, 2020, where he also acted as Head in Charge, Department of Software Engineering for a while.
